In the HostGator control panel you have the ability to back up all your HostGator files and databases.

HostGator Backup Procedure

Sign into the HostGator control panel >BackUp
Place you email address where where Hostgator will get tback to you with information on the HostGator backup a tar.gz file format. Save this file on your personal computer for safe keeping and make sure you know where to find it if needed.
Use a FTP client such as Filezilla to transfer the backup files to the Hostgator server. That’s it!
